The “Mecanica” Stadium in Orăștie has been modernized to meet the requirements of sports competitions and the needs of the local community. The project included the complete reconstruction of the playing field, modernization of the stands, and the creation of an athletics track in line with international standards.
In the immediate vicinity of the stadium, the area has been completely revitalized, featuring green spaces, pedestrian walkways, and a 200-space parking lot, integrating the stadium into a modern sports and recreational complex.

The challenge
Transforming the “Mecanica” Stadium into modern infrastructure required technical interventions to improve the playing surface, drainage and lighting systems, as well as the optimization of facilities for athletes and spectators. The works were planned to ensure a balance between functionality, durability, and the harmonious integration of the stadium into the modernized urban landscape.
Execution
- ● Competition-standard football field with natural grass, equipped with a modern drainage system
- ● Athletics track with six running lanes, covered with tartan for training and competitions
- ● 600-seat grandstand, equipped with access spaces and optimal comfort for spectators
- ● Changing rooms for athletes, toilets, technical spaces and medical office, located on the ground floor of the grandstand
- ● Installation of a modern night lighting system, adapted for events held in the evening
- ● Pedestrian alleys and 200-space parking lot, integrated into the urban plan of the area
